These homes on Mill St., also called Nailors Row, were constructed later than the other homes on Mill St. These buildings were Phoenixville Hospital’s first home. These small double houses first opened as a hospital in 1893 and served to help workers who sustained injuries at the iron and steel company. Since only six to eight patients could be treated here at a time, the hospital moved to its Nutt Road location in 1900.
