This bridge was used as a sample bridge so that clients could see firsthand what their finished product would look like. At one time there were railroad tracks on the bridge, and small ”dinky car” trains carried supplies from one part of the mill to another.
The trail on the other side of the bridge is part of the Schuylkill River Trail that runs from Philadelphia to Schuylkill Haven.
